Designed by Altus founder Shuichi Tanaka, all Azumi flutes come with the handcrafted Altus Z-cut professional headjoint and the Altus/Bennett scale, a precise yet robust mechanism, which make these flutes effortless to play in tune. They are specially deisnged for the serious student and aspiring artist. The AZ1SRBO features a silver-plated body, sterling silver lip plate and riser, open holes and offset G.
The Altus Z-cut professional headjoint, featuring a sterling silver lip plate and riser, responds quickly and easily and produces a full and rich tone in all three registers. This headjoint provides the developing flutist a modern, square cut design noted for precise articulation, powerful tone, and effortless enjoyment.
The French Pointed Key Arms lend an elegant and refined look that signify the skill of a true craftsman and provide improved key strength. Open-hole keys allow for effects such as bending and shading and are the standard among intermediate flutes. Additionally, the B footjoint adds weight to the instrument which results in producing an overall darker tone. It also improves the overall pitch of the third octave.
