Vintage Conn 12M "Naked Lady" Low Bb Bari Sax - Used

Vintage Conn 12M “Naked Lady” low Bb baritone saxophone in original lacquer with rolled tone holes and original engraving. Serial number 312229 places this horn in the mid-1930s during the highly desirable “Naked Lady” era of Conn saxophone production. Includes original hard case, Brilhart Ebolin #4 mouthpiece, and metal ligature.

The Conn 12M is widely regarded as one of the most iconic vintage baritone saxophones ever produced, known for its huge projection, complex tone, and massive low-end presence. This example retains the classic Art Deco engraving and vintage Conn character players seek out.

Condition:

  • Original lacquer showing moderate-heavy cosmetic wear, oxidation, and finish checking throughout
  • Pads are approximately 7/10 condition
  • Mechanically functional and play-ready
  • Includes original neck and original vintage case
  • Includes Brilhart Ebolin #4 mouthpiece and metal ligature
  • Low Bb model
  • Rolled tone holes

This horn would make an excellent player’s vintage bari for jazz, big band, or collector use. The 12M remains one of the benchmark vintage American baritone saxophones, offering the large, powerful sound Conn horns are famous for.

Given the age and visible cosmetic wear, this instrument is best described as good vintage player condition rather than collector-grade cosmetic condition.
